Multi Language
Expandable’s optional MULTI LANGUAGE module supports a number of User Interface Language Options that have been Machine Translated to specific language reference libraries accessed by the system based on the individual user’s local language setting.
The module currently supports five machine translated languages:
- Spanish
- French
- German
- Chinese (PRC – Simplified)
- Japanese
The development architecture supports any worldwide language that can be translated into a language-specific resource file accessed by the system user interface.
Local user language definition is as simple as changing the short IETF language tag defined in the local users registry.
When licensed, the Multi-Language module provides language modification across: Field Entry Labels, Functional Action Button Labels/Hints and system messages (information/warning/error messages).
The user login window will always be presented in the language specified in the local user registry. When Expandable ERP loads, the GUI components will reflect the preferred language.

Data Entry
Application Data Entry Fields and SQL Data Types where the data is ultimately stored support all languages under a Unicode double-byte character/symbol encoding. This allows system data entry supporting the user’s text data string entry in their native language regardless of GUI Language selected for the application and is independent of the Multi-Language GUI features.
System Administration
Data values defined by the administrator for drop down selection, default settings and such that are setup in the application dictionary are separate from the GUI and can define text value strings in any language for data entry, consistency of reporting and record searches.

Expandable’s GUI components will reflect the language specified in the local user registry
